About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager with strong experience in the Technology, IT, AI, Software, or related digital industry to oversee the company's financial operations and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth.
This role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, management accounting, financial controls, compliance, and business performance analysis. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced technology environment and partnering closely with senior management and business teams to drive financial performance.
What You Will Do
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee the company's day-to-day finance and accounting operations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts.
- Analyse financial performance, revenue, expenses, margins, and key business metrics.
- Provide management with financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Monitor and analyse profitability across different business units, projects, products, or services.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Oversee account consolidation and ensure accuracy of financial records.
Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A
- Lead the annual budgeting and financial planning process.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and identify key variances.
- Work closely with business and operational teams to develop realistic financial plans and forecasts.
- Provide financial modelling and scenario analysis to support business expansion and investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and improved financial performance.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage and monitor the company's cash flow position and working capital.
- Prepare regular cash flow forecasts and ensure sufficient liquidity to support business operations.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure timely collections and payments.
- Manage banking relationships and coordinate banking facilities where required.
- Monitor cash utilisation and ensure effective allocation of company funds.
Commercial & Business Finance
- Partner with senior management and business teams to evaluate financial performance and business opportunities.
- Support commercial decision-making through financial analysis and business modelling.
- Review pricing, project costing, revenue projections, and profitability.
- Analyse the financial performance of technology projects, software solutions, AI initiatives, and other business lines.
- Provide financial input for new projects, investments, contracts, and expansion plans.
- Develop financial dashboards and KPIs to track business performance.
Compliance, Tax & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee compliance relating to LHDN, SST, E-Invoicing, EPF, SOCSO, HRDF, and other relevant requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and other professional advisers.
- Ensure timely completion of audits, tax filings, statutory submissions, and financial reporting requirements.
- Establish, review, and improve internal financial controls and processes.
- Ensure proper documentation and controls are maintained across finance operations.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Review and improve finance processes, policies, and internal controls to support business growth.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Work closely with IT and internal teams to improve the use of accounting and financial management systems.
- Ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and readily available for management reporting.
- Support implementation or enhancement of ERP, accounting, reporting, and finance systems where required.
What You Should Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Accountancy, Banking, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Strong preference for candidates from the Technology, IT, AI, Software, SaaS, FinTech, Digital, or other technology-driven industries.
- Experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Strong experience in FP&A, financial analysis, financial modelling, and business performance reporting.
- Experience with account consolidation and month-end/year-end closing.
- Strong understanding of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation, and statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with LHDN, SST, E-Invoicing, EPF, SOCSO, HRDF, and other relevant Malaysian compliance requirements.
- Experience working with accounting/ERP systems such as SQL, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Zoho, or similar platforms.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
