Finance Manager

Full Time | Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur

RM8,500 to RM10,000 per month

This is a newly created role within the organization. The Finance Manager will initially operate in a hands-on capacity, managing daily finance operations independently while establishing proper finance structures, controls, and reporting processes. Over time, the role will evolve to lead the development of a formal finance team and transition into a more strategic finance leadership position.

Key Responsibility

• Hands-On Finance Operations (Initial Phase)

-           Manage full set of accounts independently (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)

-           Handle daily finance operations including:

·      Accounts payable (AP)

·      Accounts receivable (AR)

·      Bank reconciliations

·      Payment processing

-           Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing

-           Maintain proper accounting records and documentation

• Finance Structure & Process Setup

-           Establish proper finance workflows, SOPs, and internal controls

-           Design and standardize:

-           Chart of accounts

-           Monthly reporting formats

-           Budget and forecast templates

-           Improve accuracy and discipline in financial data management

• Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Monitoring

-           Lead preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections

-           Monitor actual performance against budget and analyze variances

-           Track GP margins, operating costs, and profitability by brand and channel

-           Provide management with clear financial insights and recommendations

• Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

-           Manage daily and medium-term cash flow planning

-           Monitor and optimize:

·      AR collections

·      AP payment cycles

-           Inventory funding and turnover

-           Support banking matters and cash planning

• Inventory, Logistics & Systems Integration

-           Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation across:

·      AutoCount

·      SiteGiant

-           Third-party WMS systems

-           Work closely with Operations to ensure:

·      Accurate stock valuation

·      Proper cost allocation (logistics, warehousing, fulfillment)

·      Resolve discrepancies between operational systems and accounting records

• E-commerce & Marketplace Finance

-           Oversee financial reconciliation for:

·      Shopify

·      Marketplaces (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, etc.)

-           Review platform fees, commissions, subsidies, vouchers, refunds, and chargebacks

-           Support pricing and promotion profitability analysis

• Compliance, Tax & External Parties

-           Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements

-           Manage:

·      SST submissions

·      Corporate tax matters

-           Withholding tax (if applicable)

-           Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and company secretary

• Team Building & Leadership (Future Phase)

-           Plan and build the finance team as the business scales

-           Recruit, train, and supervise finance team members

-           Delegate operational tasks over time while maintaining oversight

-           Develop team capabilities and finance best practices

• Management & Strategic Support

-           Act as a finance business partner to Management

-           Support financial evaluation for:

·      New product launches

·      New brand onboarding

·      Business expansion initiatives

-           Provide financial input for strategic decision-making

Job Requirements

• Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields

Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) are an advantage

• Experience

Minimum 6–10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience

Proven experience in:

·      Hands-on full set accounting

·      Setting up finance functions or processes

Experience in SME, distribution, e-commerce, or retail environments preferred

Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills

Excellent cash flow and working capital management ability

Experience integrating accounting with operational systems

Strong Excel and data analysis skills
