Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) is a government-owned Development Financial Institution (DFI) founded in 1995 to provide financing and takaful solutions for cross-border ventures. The Bank focuses on promoting investments and exports in strategic sectors, including capital goods, infrastructure, shipping, and value-added manufacturing. EXIM Bank also facilitates the entry of Malaysian companies into new and non-traditional markets globally. As of May 1, 2025, it operates as a subsidiary of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (BPMB), a wholly-owned entity of the Malaysian Ministry of Finance (MOF Inc.).

Role Description

This role is responsible for managing vendor payments, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role oversees foreign payments, including reverse charge and imported services, and ensures proper month-end journal closing to support accurate financial reporting and audit requirements.

  • Invoice Verification & Processing

Review, verify, and process vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and approved procurement documentation.

  • Vendor Payment Management

Ensure timely processing of payments to local and foreign vendors in accordance with agreed payment terms while maintaining effective payment schedules.

  • Accounts Payable Reconciliation

Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable balances, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained.

  • Vendor Master Data & Records Management

Maintain accurate vendor master data and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and finance governance requirements.

  • Foreign Payment Processing

Process foreign vendor payments and ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained for cross-border transactions

  • Tax & Regulatory Compliance for Cross-Border Transactions

Verify withholding tax obligations, reverse charge mechanism requirements, and imported services tax compliance for foreign payments in accordance with Malaysian tax regulations.

  • Month-End Closing Support

Prepare and post accounts payable-related journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, to support timely and accurate month-end closing.

  • Audit & Financial Reporting Support

Provide supporting documentation, reconciliations, and financial data for internal and external audits related to accounts payable and vendor transactions.

  • Process Improvement & Internal Collaboration

Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes, enhance automation, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable, financial reporting, or tax compliance.
  • Familiarity with foreign payments, reverse charge mechanism, and imported service tax.
  • Knowledge of payment automation, e-invoice, withholding tax, SST, and other indirect tax regulations is an advantage.
  • Experience with month-end journal closing and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in SAP ECC 6.0 or similar ERP systems is preferred
