Role Description
This role is responsible for managing vendor payments, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role oversees foreign payments, including reverse charge and imported services, and ensures proper month-end journal closing to support accurate financial reporting and audit requirements.
Review, verify, and process vendor invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and approved procurement documentation.
Ensure timely processing of payments to local and foreign vendors in accordance with agreed payment terms while maintaining effective payment schedules.
Perform regular reconciliation of accounts payable balances, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper supporting documentation is maintained.
Maintain accurate vendor master data and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and finance governance requirements.
Process foreign vendor payments and ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained for cross-border transactions
Verify withholding tax obligations, reverse charge mechanism requirements, and imported services tax compliance for foreign payments in accordance with Malaysian tax regulations.
Prepare and post accounts payable-related journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, to support timely and accurate month-end closing.
Provide supporting documentation, reconciliations, and financial data for internal and external audits related to accounts payable and vendor transactions.
Identify opportunities to improve accounts payable processes, enhance automation, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and operational efficiency.
