Finance Systems Specialist (Oracle EPM)

We are looking for a Finance Systems Specialist with strong hands-on experience in Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications to support and enhance the organisation's financial systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing system support, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining system performance and data integrity, and improving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

This role requires a combination of technical expertise and financial process knowledge, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oracle EPM Systems Support

• Provide first-level support for Oracle EPM applications, including PBCS, FCCS, TRCS, and Narrative Reporting.
• Manage, troubleshoot, and resolve user support tickets within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Investigate system issues, including failed jobs, data discrepancies, and performance-related problems.
• Provide end-user support, guidance, and training on finance systems.
• Perform monthly and annual system rollovers, maintenance, and other system administration activities.
• Ensure system stability, availability, performance, and financial data integrity.

2. System Enhancements and Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with the Group Finance team to identify and implement system enhancements.
• Drive automation and process optimisation across finance systems.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, particularly in financial planning and forecasting.
• Improve financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and planning capabilities.
• Support the implementation of new tools, system features, and best practices.
• Translate business and reporting requirements into practical system improvements.

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Group FP&A, Group Finance, and corporate functional leaders to understand business requirements.
• Coordinate with Oracle Support and Customer Success teams to resolve technical issues when required.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience implementing and managing Oracle EPM applications, including PBCS, FCCS, TRCS, and Narrative Reporting.
• Experience with finance systems integration and automation.
• Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Experience supporting finance transformation initiatives, particularly in planning and forecasting.
• Competency in AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Oracle EPM calculation scripting, including Groovy.
• Automation and system administration, including scripting, backups, and migrations.
• Advanced financial reporting development.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Smart View, Macros, and Power Query.
• Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, consolidation, and reporting processes.
• Finance systems troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance optimisation.

Desirable Requirements

• Advanced expertise across Oracle EPM applications, including PBCS, FCCS, TRCS, and Narrative Reporting.
• Exposure to cloud-based finance systems and emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
• Previous experience in a similar finance systems or EPM specialist role.
