A global leader in the financial markets media industry for 20 years, we've recently launched a groundbreaking and greatly-in-demand, new platform for the global investment industry, and are seeking strong, intelligent, enthusiastic individuals to join us on this journey.

The Islamic investment industry is a fast-growing and dynamic sector within the Islamic finance space, with a ballooning pool of assets under management, reflecting a rapidly increasing demand for Islamic investment products. Yet this increased demand has not been matched by increased activity in the media space. IFN Investor, the new platform under the globally renowned IFN brand, is changing the landscape with a one stop editorial and data portal for all those involved or interested in the local, regional, and global Shariah compliant investment market. Additionally, IFN Investor, the platform, is accompanied by a series of leading IFN Investor events in the core markets.

In joining this team, you'd be responsible for managing a growing global selection of the Islamic finance industry's leading financial institutions, intermediaries and regulators, from Kuala Lumpur to London and Dubai to New York. You would ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timely availability of this data on our platform, while supporting insights and reporting that highlight market trends across both the buy- and sell-side.

As a Financial Data & Market Intelligence Analyst, your primary responsibility is to analyze financial data, maintain a comprehensive database of Islamic funds and investment products, and actively engage with fund managers and industry participants to gather market intelligence, verify information, and identify developments across the Islamic asset management industry.

Salary range: RM 3000 - RM 3500

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection & Management

•Source and maintain financial data on public and private investment funds from multiple markets.

•Track newly launched funds and update the database on a regular basis.

•Manage fund records with high accuracy, ensuring data consistency and compliance with defined standards.

Data Cleaning & Upload

•Clean, validate, and prepare raw data for integration into backend systems.

•Perform quality checks to identify and correct errors (e.g., formatting issues, duplicate entries, missing values).

•Handle bulk uploads into the database backend, ensuring smooth publishing to the website.

Analysis & Reporting

•Conduct regular analysis on the funds market (excluding restricted regions as assigned).

•Use tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Excel to generate dashboards, reports, and insights.

•Provide weekly and quarterly summaries of market developments to support internal and external stakeholders.

Collaboration & Support

•Work closely with clients across regions to maintain coverage of 2,500+ global Islamic funds.

•Support the editorial and marketing team in preparing datasets and materials for publications, client reports, and events.

•Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and workflows.

Client Engagement & Market Intelligence

•Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, asset management companies, and industry participants within assigned markets

•Conduct regular check-in calls and meetings with fund managers to obtain the latest fund updates, market developments, product launches, and industry insights.

•Gather exclusive market intelligence and identify emerging trends, opportunities, and stories that many not be publicly available.

•Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned fund managers, ensuring data accuracy through direct engagement and verification.

•Proactively identify missing or outdated information and follow up with relevant stakeholders to maintain database quality

•Contribute market commentary and insights gathered from industry interactions to support research, editorial content, events, and business development initiatives.

Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, statistics or IT.

•Strong financial acumen and a deep understanding of financial markets.

•Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced functions, data cleaning, pivot tables).

•Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar).

•Knowledge of databases/SQL is a plus.

•High attention to detail and accuracy in handling large datasets.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
