About Our Client


A well-established multinational personal care company hiring a Head of General Trade (GT) who will lead the strategy and execution of the company's traditional trade channel.

This role is responsible for driving sales growth, strengthening distribution, and leading the GT sales organization, while ensuring strong execution across wholesalers, distributors, and retail partners. The ideal candidate will bring a well-rounded commercial background across sales, key account management, or trade marketing, along with strong leadership capabilities.

Job Description

  • Lead the General Trade strategy and execution across Malaysia to drive sustainable sales growth.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing sales team, including regional sales and field teams.
  • Strengthen distribution coverage, distributor performance, and route-to-market strategies.
  • Work closely with distributors and wholesalers to ensure strong availability, visibility, and execution at retail level.
  • Collaborate with trade marketing, marketing, and supply chain teams to deliver effective campaigns and promotions.
  • Drive disciplined sales planning, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market reach and improve channel productivity.

The Successful Applicant


  • Proven experience in General Trade sales within personal care or skin care.
  • Experienced in either key account management or trade marketing roles earlier in career.
  • Strong background in sales leadership, distribution management, and route-to-market strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop large field sales teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to drive execution in a fast-moving consumer environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
