Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Food Service Steward / Kitchen Cook role based at Columbia Asia Hospital in Tebrau. The role involves preparing, cooking, and serving food and beverages in accordance with hospital standards, dietary requirements, and hygiene regulations. Daily tasks include assisting with meal planning, portioning, plating, and timely delivery of meals to patients, staff, and visitors. The role also includes maintaining kitchen cleanliness, operating equipment safely, managing stock rotation, and supporting food safety audits. The Food Service Steward / Kitchen Cook collaborates with the clinical and customer service teams to ensure a positive dining experience and may help train new team members on food service procedures.

The Food Service Steward / Kitchen Cook collaborates with the clinical and customer service teams to ensure a positive dining experience and may help train new team members on food service procedures.
Qualifications
- Strong Food & Beverage and Food Service skills, including safe food handling, basic cooking techniques, and knowledge of hygiene standards.
- Customer Service skills to provide courteous, patient-focused support and respond to dietary requests professionally.
- Effective Communication skills to coordinate with nursing, dietetics, and other hospital teams, and to follow written and verbal instructions clearly.
- Experience in Training or mentoring colleagues on kitchen procedures, food safety practices, and service standards is an advantage.
- Previous experience in hospital, healthcare, or institutional kitchen environments is beneficial.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required, and to perform physically active duties in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic knowledge of nutrition or therapeutic diets is an added advantage.
- Relevant certification in food handling or hospitality is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
