Full Stack Engineer (Node.js / TypeScript + SingPass Integration) (1 Year Contract)

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Engineer to join our team in developing and enhancing a digital platform supporting volunteer management and operational workflows.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining modern web applications, working across frontend, backend, database and cloud environments.

You will work closely with product managers, designers and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into reliable, scalable and user-friendly digital solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who is comfortable taking ownership of features and independently delivering solutions from development through to production deployment.

Full Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, test and maintain full-stack web applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build responsive and reusable frontend components using modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
• Develop mobile-responsive web applications and Progressive Web App (PWA) features.
• Design, develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Independently implement application features based on functional and technical requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code in accordance with engineering best practices.

Backend, Database & Integrations

• Develop and maintain backend services and database integrations.
• Work with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Implement authentication, authorisation, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and audit logging.
• Support application security and data protection requirements, including PDPA compliance.
• Integrate external services and APIs, including Singpass, MyInfo and Corppass.
• Develop email and SMS notification functionalities using services such as AWS SES, SNS or Twilio.

Application Features & Functionalities

• Develop scheduling, calendar and availability management features.
• Implement attendance tracking functionalities, including QR code-based check-in and check-out.
• Build dashboards, reporting tools and data export capabilities, including PDF and Excel formats.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver functional enhancements.
• Troubleshoot application issues and implement fixes to improve system reliability and performance.

Cloud, DevOps & Application Support

• Deploy, maintain and support applications in cloud environments such as AWS.
• Work with cloud services including EC2, Lambda, RDS or equivalent technologies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure automation.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor application performance, investigate technical issues and support production deployments.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of application features.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack application development.
• Recent hands-on development experience with Node.js and TypeScript is mandatory.
• Proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as React and/or Next.js.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, RBAC and secure application development practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including application deployment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience developing and delivering production-grade web applications.
• Ability to independently develop, test and deliver application features.
• Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience integrating Singpass, MyInfo or Corppass.
• Experience with scheduling, attendance tracking, notification or reporting functionalities.
• Experience developing mobile-responsive applications or Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Prior experience developing citizen-facing government digital services.
