Position Summary
Are you passionate about leading regional finance operations and partnering with the business at a strategic level We are looking for a SEA GBS Finance Manager to join us in Penang!
You're responsible for financial governance, reporting oversight, cash flow management, and performance control across Southeast Asia (SEA), covering Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
This is a people manager role who will lead a team of 4 direct reports, including oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, strong internal controls, and standardized processes across the region.
You'll also serve as the primary finance business partner to Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams within SEA and plays a key role in managing the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), working capital, cost control, liquidity management, and regional financial performance initiatives.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Governance
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for SEA.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of full financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
- Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes.
- Provide financial commentary and insights to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, corporate policies, and local statutory requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance across the region.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management support
Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital
- Manage cash flow planning and liquidity control.
- Oversee working capital performance (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory).
- Monitor and improve DSO, DPO, and overall cash conversion cycle.
- Partner with Corporate Treasury on funding and liquidity matters.
- Lead regional cash flow forecasting and reporting.
AP / AR & Operational Finance Oversight
- Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions across SEA.
- Oversee customer credit reviews and risk management.
- Ensure strong collection processes and credit governance.
- Review payroll, T&E, and Opex authorisations.
- Oversee intercompany recharge processes and reconciliations.
Systems, Process & Continuous Improvement
- Improve financial processes and drive ERP optimisation.
- Act as regional lead for ERP systems including SAP (Business One / SAP ERP), OneStream, and reporting tools.
- Leverage automation and BI tools to enhance reporting quality and speed.
- Support internal and external audit initiatives and remediation plans.
Standard Work Oversight
- TB loading from Business One to SAP
- Monthly PL & BS reviews
- Blackline reconciliations
- OneStream certifications
- Margin reporting by customer
- Inventory obsolescence and idle FA reviews
- Corporate tax coordination (US GAAP & local)
- Incentive true-ups (AIP & Non-AIP)
- SOX control reviews
- Statutory audit coordination
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, develop, and performance manage 4 direct reports.
- Partner with Regional Operations, Supply Chain, Commercial, and FP&A leaders.
- Provide actionable financial insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with Global Business Services and Corporate Finance teams.
- Support cross-regional finance initiatives and best practice sharing.
People Profile, Education & Experience We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a regional GBS or Finance Manager role.
- Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multi-country finance operations within Southeast Asia.
- Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, and working capital management.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of financial statements and US GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Business One, etc.).
- Experience with OneStream, Hyperion, or similar consolidation tools.
- Power BI or other BI/reporting tools preferred.
- Treasury knowledge and cash management experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation capability.
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-country, multicultural environment.
