General Ledger Accountant

We are looking for General Ledger Accountant to join Shared Service Center Finance Team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role will be responsible for ensuring that transactions have been properly accounted for and accurately reflect the company's accounting process. Responsible for the preparation of relevant accounting statements and analysis reports, and in accordance with national laws and regulations, auditing standards and accounting theory, compiling audit work papers.

Responsibilities

• Preparing journal entries, recurring and allocation journal entries, collecting adequate supporting documentation
• Month- end, quarter-end and year-end closing;
• Quarterly balance sheet and P&L Fluctuation Analysis;
• Monthly expense variance analysis;
• Consolidation, inter-company transactions and reconciliations including foreign currency accounting;
• Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, local accounting policies from government and compliance to internal policies;
• Manage Fixed assets, balance sheet accounts reconciliations;
• Updates and maintains financial reports on a regularly basis;
• Follows the group monthly reporting timelines and monthly closing;
• Prepares internal financial statements and domestic reports, accurately reports to senior management;
• Reports data input to group financial system on a regularly basis;
• Provides various statements and relevant auditing data for the accounting firm's audit work

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting or Finance
• At least 5 years General Ledger experience (experience working with a top 10 audit firm preferred).
• Knowledge of local accounting standards and IFRS.
• Experience in ERP system and/or accounting shared service center will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in MS office, mainly excel
• Good communication skill
• Details oriented, strong sense of responsibility and team spirit.
• This position is based in Malaysia
