General Manager / Chief Investment Officer

Our client is a respected regional investment platform driving multi-sector growth and recognized for its strategic portfolio and deal-making expertise. Given the business growth, they are expanding their presence in Malaysia. As the first hire in the country, this role offers the chance to oversee investment strategy, manage high-impact deals, and work directly with senior leadership to grow the business across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities:

• Investment Strategy Lead deal sourcing, structuring, negotiation, and execution across sectors.
• Portfolio Management Monitor and manage portfolio companies to drive operational and financial performance.
• Value Creation Identify and implement initiatives to enhance portfolio value and strategic growth.
• Team Leadership Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing investment team.
• Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with senior management and maintain relationships with investors, advisors, and partners.

Experience:

• Investment Track Record 10+ years in investments, private equity, or corporate finance with multi-sector deal experience.
• Leadership & People Management Strong experience leading teams and mentoring talent.
• Analytical & Strategic Thinking Excellent financial, commercial, and operational analysis skills.
• Market Knowledge Deep understanding of regional markets and cross-border transactions.
