Job Purpose:
This role focuses on overseeing and strengthening aviation security at airports by advising top management on security requirements, shaping policies, and ensuring compliance with national and international regulations. It involves leading crisis management planning, monitoring corporate risks, and providing solutions that align with organizational goals. The position also emphasizes coordinating with stakeholders—including airlines, government agencies, and service providers—to ensure smooth security operations. Additionally, it includes driving workforce development, maintaining high staff competency and discipline, and leveraging research, intelligence, and new technologies to continuously enhance airport security effectiveness.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To advise top management on aviation security requirements to ensure aviation security at airports are provided with adequate facilities for effective and efficient security operations.
- To strategize and review aviation security policy to be adopted by all stakeholders.
- To establish and review Corporate Crisis Management Plan in order to provide guidance on responsibilities and actions to be taken by respective division to manage crisis and resources effectively and efficiently.
- To monitor and effectively managed corporate risks in order to provide management with possible solution with less implication to company's vision and mission.
- Develop and maintain good rapport with internal divisions, airlines, government agencies service providers and concessionaire to ensure effective coordination and communication takes place to achieve a smooth airport security operations.
- Plan, direct and monitor a standard and consistent implementation of all security policy and guideline align with national and international regulations.
- Plan and strategize manpower development in ensuring the high level of competency and discipline among all security staff.
- Drive research and planning on business intelligence, new technologies, methods and strategies to enhance airport security from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Degree holder in any discipline from any University and accredited by LAN;
- Preferably has attended critical courses such as Criminal Investigation, Aviation Security Management, Crisis Management; detailed knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices;
- Preferably possess Police Experience or AVSEC managerial position with detailed knowledge of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices.
- A minimum of 7 years experience in Senior Managerial position in Security services.
- Experience working in a Public Listed Company, established MNC or construction industry.
- Familiar with the Government Security requirement and International Standards and Practice for aviation industry.
- Have exposure in any companies managing diverse business, both local and international.
- Familiar with Holdings Company's management of multiple subsidiary companies and governance.
- Good working knowledge of:
- The principles, practices, procedures and techniques of airport operations and management;
- Laws and regulations applicable to airports and airports operations, especially security regulations as stated by the Department of Civil Aviation , and other related laws;
- The principles, theories and methods of operational analysis applicable to evaluating provision of services and utilization of facilities at a large international airport.
- Ability to clearly communicate both in writing and orally to ensure information / data is shared and used adequately.
