Summary:
The General Manager provides overall leadership and strategic direction for Sunway Big Box Hotel, Johor, overseeing hotel operations, financial performance, and guest experience. The role drives revenue growth, profitability, and market positioning through effective sales, marketing, and operational strategies. This position leads budgeting, cost control, and performance monitoring while building and developing a high-performing team. The General Manager ensures compliance with brand standards, safety, and regulatory requirements, while fostering innovation, sustainability, and strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall operations of the hotel
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize revenue, occupancy, RevPAR, and profitability
- Lead budgeting, financial reporting, and cost controls while monitoring key performance indicators
- Ensure outstanding guest satisfaction through superior service standards and swift issue resolution
- Drive sales, marketing initiatives, and partnerships to strengthen the hotel's market position
- Build and mentor a high-performing team, promoting a culture of excellence and employee engagement
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and regulatory requirements Foster innovation and continuous improvement across all departments
- Represent the hotel in community and industry engagements
- Drive sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field
- Proven track record as a General Manager in 4-star hotel experience preferred
- A strong background in Rooms division/Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage
- Strong financial acumen, operational expertise, and a track record of achieving revenue goals
- Excellent leadership, communication, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong operational management, financial expertise, and leadership skills
