The Handyman is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance, repair, and upkeep tasks to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of a facility. This role requires a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail to address a wide range of maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct general maintenance and repair tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
- Perform routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or areas for improvement.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Install or assemble equipment, fixtures, and furniture as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and purchases.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other team members, contractors, and vendors as required.
- Adhere to applicable safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and suggest improvements in maintenance processes.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Candidate Specification
- Certificate in Vocational or minimum SPM, SKM
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair work, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general maintenance tasks in areas such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment related to maintenance work.
- Good understanding of safety protocols and ability to work safely without supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
