JOB TITLE : GL Accountant, APAC
REPORTING TO : Senior GL Manager - APAC
LOCATION : Malaysia
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join our team. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for China legal entities and other country's entities general ledger operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments and stakeholders within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all Record to Report month end closing, year end closing activities and reporting for entities including but not limited to the journals preparation, intercompany transactions reconciliations, balance sheet review, transaction proposal and processing, process controlling, analysis and reconciliations.
- Preparation of reports & analysis of expenses
- Provide support for and management of working capital – inventory (including stock counts), trade receivables and trade payables
- Provide support to Accounting team in Accounts Payable functions if required
- Maintenance, accounting and management of fixed assets
- Provide support for budget and 5-year aspirations activities
- Prepare financial reports and data provided to the bureau of statistics.
- Assist local finance with internal and external audit requests.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, business owners, SSC team, Finance BPs etc.
- Recommend, develop, and implement solutions for continuous improvements across various departments and functions.
- Maintenance of vendor master data
- Perform Ad hoc tasks assigned by line manager.
Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related majors
- Post graduate professional qualifications e.g. ACCA/CIMA is preferred
- Knowledge in China GAAP and IFRS accounting standards including tax accounting is preferred but not essential
- Minimum 3 years working experiences in GL Accounting field for multinational companies. Experience in manufacturing companies is advantage
- Excellent analytical skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
- Fluent in English, Chinese both verbal and written (other additional language is a plus).
- Experience with SAP system is preferred.
- Familiar with FSSC concept or working experience in BPO is welcome.
