GL Accountant (Shah Alam)

Ideal candidates should possess solid General Ledger experience, month-end close exposure, and strong financial reporting knowledge. Candidates with a short notice period or immediate availability will be highly preferred.

Description

• Manage and execute day-to-day accounting operations, including fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, AFE/CIP monitoring, asset disposals and transfers, impairment provisions, lease accounting, inventory adjustments, and general ledger postings.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing activities, including the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with corporate reporting requirements and deadlines.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, financial analysis, and variance reviews to support management decision-making.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors by providing accurate supporting documentation and resolving audit queries in a timely manner.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, system integration, and automation projects to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations and reporting accuracy.
  
  

Profile

• Demonstrates a strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the workplace.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and/or Accounting operations.
• Sound knowledge of general accounting principles, including US GAAP and local GAAP standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively across different levels of the organization.
• A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Power BI, with strong computer literacy skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.
