Job Description
WellStat is a leading PropTechcompany providing integrated solutions for building management, indoor air quality monitoring, and energy optimization. The business operates across North America and the UK with a focus on sustainable building technologies and expanding their smart building platform globally.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a compliance-led role responsible for helping strengthen and coordinate our global compliance framework. You will also provide practical legal operations support, including contract coordination, document management and liaison with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
KEY RESPOSIBILITIES
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of global compliance policies, procedures and controls.
- Monitor regulatory developments and maintain registers of applicable compliance obligations.
- Coordinate compliance risk assessments, monitoring activities, control testing and remediation actions.
- Support compliance training and communications covering areas such as anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, sanctions, data privacy and the Code of Conduct.
- Coordinate third-party due diligence, background checks and sanctions screening.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, case files, training data and management reports.
- Support the administration of compliance concerns and internal investigations, ensuring appropriate confidentiality and escalation.
- Coordinate vendor and customer contract reviews, approvals, renewals and signature workflows.
- Maintain legal documents and repositories and liaise with external counsel when required.
- Provide compliance and legal operations support to Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Sales and other functions globally.
Required
- A degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least five years of relevant experience in compliance, risk, legal operations or a related control function.
- Practical experience with compliance frameworks, risk assessments, monitoring, due diligence, investigations and reporting.
- Strong research, writing, documentation and Excel skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to work effectively across different cultures and time zones.
- Strong judgement, integrity and attention to detail when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Experience supporting a global or multi-country organisation would be an advantage.
- A recognised compliance, risk or legal qualification would be beneficial.
- Flexibility to support global stakeholders and urgent compliance or legal matters out of APAC hours.
This is a permanent, individual-contributor role based in Kuala Lumpur.
