Job Purpose
The Global Domain Director provides strategic leadership across key Global IT functional sub-domains, particularly GBIT Network Data - Reference and Problem to Resolution Platforms, owning the endtoend lifecycle of critical global IT systems and driving the successful delivery of programs that support business transformation. This role ensures that technology investments deliver maximum value to the organization, while maintaining operational excellence, cost efficiency, and harmonization across all regions.

How will you contribute to the success of DHL

1. Strategic Leadership & Portfolio Ownership
. Lead the planning and execution of the Express Global Application Roadmaps for the assigned subdomain and portfolio.
. Own the roadmap of the global products within the portfolio to ensure alignment with business strategy and evolving requirements.
. Define and align present and future business and IT needs, ensuring technology investments deliver longterm value.
. Align with global and regional functions to maintain a cohesive crossdomain perspective.
. Ensure maximum system uptime and resilience through strategic infrastructure management and robust business continuity planning.
. Ensure all systems comply with global regulatory frameworks and industry-specific security standards across our international operating regions.

2. Program & Project Delivery Excellence
. Ensure all programs and projects are delivered to agreed scope, time, cost, quality, and governance standards.
. Act as the senior supplier for global projects with full accountability for IT delivery.
. Provide regular reporting on progress toward program and project milestones.
. Guide regional teams to ensure harmonized project execution, maximizing reuse and minimizing duplication of effort and cost.
. Participate in Global Functional Steering Groups and Project Boards, representing the domain's strategic and delivery interests.

3. Stakeholder, Partner & Customer Engagement
. Build strong working relationships with business and IT stakeholders across all Express functions.
. Establish and manage relationships with external partners and vendors supporting DHL Express.
.Work directly with DHL customers, suppliers, and senior management to define project objectives and ensure successful delivery.
. Identify and leverage synergies across regions and divisions to drive efficiency and standardization.

4. People Leadership & Global Team Management
. Lead, influence, and motivate both direct and indirect team members across global and virtual teams.
. Contribute to subdomain budget planning and ensure effective cost control.
. Oversee recruitment, retention, performance monitoring, and development of team members.
. Ensure creation and execution of comprehensive training and development plans for direct reports.
. Create and manage a global virtual team drawn from IT and business communities.

Do you have what it takes

. University Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or similar experience.
. Minimum 10 years of multi-disciplined IT experience.

The company group delivers over 1.6 billion parcels per year. DHL Express is market leader for parcel services in Europe and Germany's main Courier and Parcel Service.
The company DHL itself was founded in San Francisco, United States, in 1969 and expanded its service throughout the world by the late 1970s. In 1979, under the name of DHL Air Cargo, the company entered the Hawaiian islands with an inter-island cargo service using two DC-3 and four DC-6 aircraft. Adrian Dalsey and Larry Hillblom personally oversaw the daily operations until its eventual bankruptcy closed the doors in 1983. At its peak, DHL Air Cargo employed just over 100 workers, management and pilots.
