It is the role of the Global Electronic Component Supplier Quality Manager to direct, coach and manage the dedicated team of Supplier Quality Engineers in global electronic component technologies for all phases of the product lifecycle.
The role will involve managing the development and implementation of Supplier Quality related initiatives through high-level compliance and conformity management, required process improvements, the application of Core Quality Tools and techniques, in order to support and fulfil the requirements of internal and external customers.
Ensuring local adherence to Global Quality objectives and corporate requirements is part of the profile.
General Responsibilities
- Manages, evaluates and guides a team of supply quality employees
- Manages the preparation of quality evaluations, trainings, and statistics in combination with different tools
- Manages the implementation of supplier audits and visits as well as process approvals, taking actions and controlling
- Manages investigation of component/material quality issues as they arise, working with supply chain, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve issues and to disposition product
- Responsible for distributing resources to support production line transfer
Experience / Qualifications
- A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Position Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all global electronic Supplier Quality engineering activities to achieve internal and external customer's requirements; establish, meet and track all departmental objectives by leading, allocating and developing team resources.
- Manage department performance by reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while checking work, tracking progress, enforcing company policy, training and motivating employees.
- Champion individual and team efforts and aid in the development of professionals, to achieve individual leadership/accountability to company goals and objectives.
- Guide and develop individuals to become experts in their fields of responsibilities, overall raising the core competency of the global electronics team.
- Champion the working interface between Design Engineering and Supplier Quality to ensure the design address all the lessons learned and is optimized for manufacturing.
- Ensure Supplier Quality is intimately involved in the Commodity strategy development and SQ and Commercial teams are fully aligned in the Development of new suppliers.
- Participate and Approve all Directed Buy Electronic Components sourcing ensuring the Source Selection process is adhered to and fully supported.
- Ensure the fundamentals of APQP are applied to deliver a flawless launch of new products.
- Drive supplier-related problem solving 8D's at suppliers, to address non-conformance, delivery problems, warranty cases and/or other performance issues as necessary; drive containment activities, communicate with the relevant internal/external contacts and ensure timely closure and effectiveness.
- Direct contact of Sensata Customers in case of major electronic supplier Non- performance or required Continuous Improvement activities
- Support processing and disposition of supplier non-conformances and initiate supplier charge backs to recover costs associated with poor supplier performance.
- Conduct supplier manufacturing capability assessments and develop action plans to close gaps.
- Drive Continuous Improvement activities in a closed loop system focused on a Zero Defect approach within the supply chain.
- Develop and share Best Practices within the organisation and ensure all Lessons Learned are applied across the entire supply base.
- Promote the SENSATA Supplier Quality Manual [GSQM] within the supply base.
- First contact for Department Managers or other functions.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must have 10+ years experience within an electronics environment.
- Knowledge of failure analysis techniques for electronic components.
- Desire someone with 5+ year's management experience leading a global team.
- Must have 10+ years of experience in handling non-conforming parts and analysing corrective actions: 8D; 5 Why; Look Across.
- Desire someone with 5+ years of experience in auditing (VDA 6.3 and/or ISO 9001/ IATF 16949).
- Extensive knowledge of the Core Quality Tools, 8D- 5 Whys, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto data analysis, etc.
- High technical competence in multiple electronic component technologies.

- Valid car driving licence.

- Flexibility and ability to travel Worldwide (up to 40% of time).
