Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish a Global Payroll Center of Excellence in Malaysia to support the payroll function globally, including the direct processing of payroll for sites identified by the Sr. Director, Global Shared Services.
- Lead the initiative to centralize the payroll function globally under finance.
- Lead the evaluation of a new global payroll strategy, including partner selection and scoping.
- Manage the vendor relationships with the company's global and regional payroll partners.
- Manage the indirect reporting relationships with Coherent's regional payroll managers as the owner of the payroll function globally.
- Lead the implementation of payroll software and systems, including new products, partners and enhancements.
- Own the integration and automation of data inbound and outbound from our global payroll systems within the Global Payroll Center of Excellence.
- Establish an audit protocol for HR and finance master data to ensure accuracy.
- Drive standardization, consistency and continuous improvement of payroll processes globally.
- Research global legislation and trends impacting payroll and evaluate the company's position and preparedness.
- Provide support for payroll reporting and data requests from the Global Payroll Center of Excellence.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, I.T. or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a global payroll or shared services environment
Skills
- Ability to work under minimum supervision & meet deadlines
- Understanding of complex payroll concepts, data and requirements
- Project management and payroll implementation experience
