Job Description
Job Roles:
This position reports to the Corporate Secretary. The candidate's main accountability is to support the Corporate Secretary in the effective and efficient running (and confidentiality of) the Corporation's Board and Board Committee meetings, and the delivery of sound corporate governance of the Corporation. This includes, among others:
- conducting research, providing recommendations and drafting governance-related Board and Board Committee papers, reviewing Board and Board Committee papers, and assisting in taking minutes at Board and Board Committee meetings;
- acting as Lead for Board and Board Committee meetings and ensuring that all matters are attended to and implemented;
- providing support in the review of Board skills and recommendations to the Board in respect of the Board succession plan and reappointments;
- overseeing the implementation of the Board orientation programme, annual Board education programme and Board effectiveness assessment;
- acting as the BoardPAC app administrator including conducting training sessions for Board members and troubleshooting any issues faced by Board members;
- liaising with and drafting correspondences to Board members and governmental authority, and providing support in governance-related matters in respect of the centralised and collaborative knowledge management platform.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of an Honours Degree in Law or Law & Business;
- Minimum 15 years of experience in practising law, and preferably, at least 5 years experience in corporate secretariat administration and governance work;
- Meticulous, with strong research, analytical, writing and drafting skills (in Bahasa Melayu and English);
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to engage with stakeholders and management at all levels;
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
- Strong sense of ethics, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy;
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented as well as deadline-oriented; and
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools, and possesses a digital mindset with adaptability and willingness to learn new IT-related skills.
