GPON Test Automation Engineer (BBN S/W QA – GPON Testing)

About the Role

We're looking for a GPON Test Automation Engineer to join our Broadband Network (BBN) QA team. You'll test PON systems (GPON, XGS-PON, EPON), focusing on automation, performance testing and Layer 2 forwarding. Candidates with strong L2 networking QA skills but no GPON experience are welcome to apply, as full training on GPON technology will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and run functional, automation and performance tests on PON systems (OLT, ONT, ONU)
• Build and maintain Python automation scripts, preferably in Robot Framework
• Run scale and performance (S&P) testing with traffic generators such as Spirent and IXIA
• Design L2 forwarding test cases and analyse packet captures
• Report and track defects and work with development teams to resolve problems
• Write test plans, test cases and test reports

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Communication Engineering, Electronics, Electronic Information or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of PON systems (GPON / XGS-PON / EPON) covering OLT, ONT and ONU
• Proficient in Python test automation (Robot Framework preferred)
• Experience with performance testing and traffic generators (Spirent, IXIA or similar)
• Experience with L2 forwarding test design and packet analysis (for example Wireshark)

Also Welcome

• Candidates with strong L2 forwarding / Layer 2 networking QA experience but no GPON background. GPON training will be provided.
