Group Financial & Tax Accountant

POSITION PURPOSE

The role of the Group Financial & Tax Accountant is to ensure that all financial accounting, reporting, and corporate tax activities are conducted in an efficient, productive, and rigorous manner, aligned with the Company's values and in full compliance with the Company's accounting policies and procedures, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applicable tax legislation, and any other relevant regulatory requirements.

The Group Financial & Tax Accountant is a key member of the Corporate Finance team and is responsible for overseeing the financial accounting, statutory reporting, corporate tax accounting and compliance for the corporate entities.

In addition, the Group Financial & Tax Accountant liaises with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities as required, and provides technical accounting and tax support to other members of the Corporate Finance team. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement of financial and tax processes, controls, and reporting practices across the Group.

The successful candidate must possess an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, as a significant portion of the role involves performing complex financial modelling, analysis, and reporting for the consolidated group.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting: Overseeing all financial accounting activities for the corporate entities, ensuring the integrity of financial records, the timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes, and the preparation of accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Tax Compliance: Managing the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations on a timely basis.

Financial Analysis: Managing the preparation of the monthly corporate management reporting process, conducting detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing meaningful insights into the financial performance of the Group.

Audit Coordination: Managing and coordinating audit processes, including working with external auditors to ensure that financial statements are accurate and comply with all regulatory requirements on a timely basis.

Statutory Accounts: Preparing statutory accounts for corporate entities, ensuring they comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Technical Accounting Expertise: Applying technical accounting/tax knowledge to complex corporate activities such as transfer pricing and any other corporate project.

Banking Administration: Managing and overseeing the Group's corporate banking systems and processes, including maintaining banking mandates, updating authorised signatories, administering bank accounts and user access, and ensuring all banking activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Position Holder Requirements

Formal Qualifications

• University degree
• Qualified accountant with professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA)
  
  

Experience, Skills And Knowledge

• Minimum 5 years accounting experience
• Big 4 audit experience preferred
• Prior experience in financial accounting & reporting
• Working knowledge of corporate tax in Malaysia and Singapore desirable
• Detailed knowledge of IFRS
• Strong excel skills
