* * Take ownership of group-wide financial consolidation and reporting for a diverse portfolio spanning Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, China, and Bangladesh, ensuring compliance with MFRS/IFRS and Bursa Malaysia standards.
* * Collaborate closely with senior leaders and project teams on budgeting, forecasting, EPCC project finance oversight, treasury management, and strategic planning-making a tangible impact on business performance.

What you'll do:
As Group Financial Controller you will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for the financial stewardship of a multi-entity organisation operating at the forefront of renewable energy development. Your day-to-day activities will see you collaborating with regional finance teams to deliver timely consolidated reports that meet rigorous regulatory standards. You will play an integral part in shaping annual budgets and strategic plans while providing actionable insights through detailed variance analysis. Your expertise will be called upon to oversee complex EPCC project finances-tracking everything from capex workflows to milestone-based revenue recognition-ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. In addition to managing treasury functions such as intercompany financing and debt facilities, you will champion best practices in internal controls and compliance across jurisdictions. By partnering with business leaders on investment decisions and spearheading digital transformation initiatives like ERP rollouts or dashboard automation, you will help drive operational excellence throughout the organisation. Success in this role means not only safeguarding financial integrity but also enabling growth through effective collaboration, process optimisation, and strategic foresight.
* Lead monthly and quarterly group consolidation processes for multiple international entities while ensuring strict adherence to MFRS/IFRS standards as well as Bursa Malaysia disclosure requirements.
* Coordinate with finance teams across six countries to prepare accurate group-level management accounts and statutory financial statements.
* Drive annual budget setting exercises and mid-term planning cycles; maintain rolling forecasts and conduct scenario analyses to inform leadership decisions.
* Deliver insightful variance analysis at both corporate and project levels to support executive management and private equity sponsors.
* Collaborate with project teams to monitor EPCC project P&L, capital expenditure tracking, cost-to-complete assessments, margin analysis, change orders, milestone invoicing, and cash flow positions.
* Support revenue recognition processes and asset capitalisation in line with EPCC project milestones.
* Monitor intercompany cash flows across subsidiaries; manage intercompany financing arrangements, banking relationships, debt facilities, and optimise working capital.
* Implement robust internal control frameworks across all entities; coordinate regional audits; prepare tax filings (CIT, GST, VAT) in key markets; support transfer pricing setup.
* Partner with business unit heads throughout Asia to provide financial insight for strategic investments in energy infrastructure assets.
* Drive financial transformation by leading ERP system implementations or upgrades; develop digital dashboards using Power BI and automation tools; standardise policies and reporting tools.
What you bring:
Your proven track record as a Group Financial Controller-or similar senior finance role-will demonstrate your ability to manage complex consolidations across multiple geographies while maintaining compliance with international accounting standards. You bring deep technical expertise in IFRS reporting alongside practical experience handling large-scale project finances within the energy or infrastructure space. Your advanced skills in ERP systems implementation (and related digital tools) enable you to streamline processes for greater efficiency. You are known for your collaborative approach when leading multicultural teams across borders-mentoring others while building trust among stakeholders at all levels. Your commercial awareness allows you to provide valuable input into investment decisions that shape organisational strategy. Strong interpersonal abilities ensure you communicate clearly with auditors, tax advisors or external partners regardless of jurisdictional complexity. Willingness to travel demonstrates your commitment to hands-on engagement wherever needed most. Experience gained from Big 4 audit firms or transaction advisory roles further enhances your suitability for this challenging yet rewarding position.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance coupled with full professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/ACA).
* 10-15 years experience in finance roles with at least 5 years focused on group consolidation or project finance within energy, EPCC or infrastructure sectors.
* Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS standards; hands-on experience with project accounting principles including capex workflows, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing mechanisms.
* Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (implementation or upgrade experience preferred), Excel modelling techniques, Power BI dashboard creation, and automation tools.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-border finance teams effectively; skilled at mentoring colleagues from diverse backgrounds while fostering high performance.
* Proven commercial acumen within the energy sector (O&G/power/renewables/gas distribution); able to constructively challenge assumptions for improved margins.
* Excellent communication skills across cultures; adept at navigating complex regulatory environments throughout South East Asia jurisdictions.
* Willingness to travel regionally for site visits, audits or system rollouts as required by business needs.
* Desirable: Background in Big 4 audit or transaction advisory services; experience managing treasury operations including debt covenants; involvement in greenfield EPCC projects or renewables infrastructure developments.
