Job Description

About Devol Robots

At Devol, we are redefining how robots learn and interact with the physical world. Instead of relying on rigid, pre-programmed routines, we are pioneering a new paradigm: physics-based embodied AI that enables robots to truly understand and adapt to force, contact, and physical interaction.

Our proprietary physics-based embodied AI model has already reached proof-of-concept, and we are now on track to integrate and deploy it with our customers across international markets, including Singapore, China, and the United States. You'll work alongside our CTO and a team of AI and robotics expertsbuilders at the intersection of hardware, software, and artificial intelligenceas we refine, scale, and release production-ready platforms. This is a rare opportunity to define how robots learn physical interaction for the next decade, and to contribute meaningfully to the rollout of a technology set to transform industries worldwide.

Your Role

We are seeking aSenior Hardware Engineer (Mechanical)who is passionate about pushing the boundaries of robotic design. You will be a key member of our engineering team, driving the mechanical architecture of force-sensitive robotic arms and mobile platforms that integrate tightly with our proprietary AI stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical design and development of next-generation robotic systems, from concept to production.
  • Design actuators, linkages, and sensors optimized for force control and manipulation.
  • Collaborate with AI and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration between mechanical systems and intelligence.
  • Perform FEA, tolerance analysis, and material selection to ensure durability, precision, and manufacturability.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on designs quickly in an agile hardware development cycle.
  • Oversee DFM/assembly documentation, supplier liaison, and pilot builds.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in robotic or electromechanical product development.
  • Expertise in CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent), FEA tools, and rapid prototyping.
  • Strong understanding of actuation systems (harmonic drives, cycloid reducers, torque sensors, etc.)
  • Experience with compliant mechanisms, lightweight structures, and robotic kinematics is a plus.
  • Creative, hands-on, and eager to iterate and test in the real world.
  • A passion for shaping the future of robotics.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of amission-driven teamredefining the frontier of robotic manipulation.
