Our client is one of the largest public listed companies in Malaysia, undergoing a major multi-year transformation to modernise its technology landscape and accelerate cloud adoption. As part of this strategic initiative, the organisation is hiring for a Head of Cloud Strategy & Architecture.
This is a high-impact, senior leadership role for a seasoned cloud strategist who is ready to shape Group-wide cloud direction, influence C-suite stakeholders, and drive transformational change across the organization.
The Head of Cloud Strategy will be responsible for defining the organisation's cloud vision, target-state architecture, reference models, and enterprise adoption strategy. You will lead the development of multi-cloud strategies (Azure as primary, AWS as secondary), oversee cloud governance, and guide large-scale transformation initiatives across the region.
This role requires strong executive presence, deep technical understanding, and hands-on leadership experience delivering cloud transformations at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Define cloud strategy, architecture roadmap, and enterprise reference models.
- Govern cloud standards, landing zones, and workload placement decisions.
- Drive cloud migration, modernisation programmes, and cloud operating model evolution.
- Influence C-suite stakeholders and manage cloud-related decision-making.
- Oversee cloud KPIs, cost optimisation (FinOps), and platform resilience.
- Lead external partners, architecture teams, and regional technology stakeholders.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in cloud strategy and architecture, with a preference towards Azure and AWS
- Proven experience in leading and strategizing large-scale cloud transformation in a highly complex and challenging environment
- Strong executive stakeholder engagement and architectural governance experience.
