Job Description

Job Purpose

Review and enhance independent credit evaluation and risk assessment on credit and investment proposals/recommendations performed by Credit Management Officer (CMO).

Key Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities

  • To evaluate and highlight key/material credit issues for credit proposal (including fresh applications/additional facilities/changes in terms and condition/reviews) from Business Unit to enable the decision maker to make an informed decision.
  • To ensure all credit proposal are within acceptable standard credit policies and guidelines/parameters requirements so as to maintain quality financings.
  • To ensure complete and adequate material information provided in the credit proposals.
  • To ensure all credit proposals are evaluated within the specific turnover time in order to meet the bank's overall turnaround time without compromising on the quality.
  • To assist/guide Relationship Manager (RM)/Credit Management Officer (CMO) by improving credit quality by advising them on the structure and quality/bankable credit proposal and on the job coaching for skills enhancement for skills enhancement.
  • To promote teamwork and collaboration with Business Units and other relevant stakeholders for the Bank's business growth and asset quality.
  • To attend credit committee meetings as and when required (IAR, MICC, CARAC, BICC) and to address any credit related issues raised in the meetings.

Other Responsibilities

  • To manage the performance of subordinates in order to achieve targeted results and to take corrective measures in the events of deterioration in quality of credit assessment and deterioration in turnaround time.
  • To review corporate credit reports as prepared and compiled by Credit Risks for submission to IAR Committee meetings.
  • To provide feedbacks and comments for new policies, guidelines, procedures, and projects related to credit environment.
  • Conduct on-boarding briefing to new recruits and credit related training to CMD and BU's staff.
  • To undertake other tasks relating to overall work scope as may be assigned from time to time by Management.
  • ICE reports are completed within stipulated turnaround timeframe.

Threshold Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Financing or equivalent
  • Possessing qualification of Certified Credit Professional (CCP) or equivalent and/or fundamental certification in Islamic Financing or equivalent will be added advantages.

Years & Nature of Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in credit assessment for SME/Corporate Financing and/or risk management practices
  • Possess risk-oriented mind-set and analytical thinking.
  • Information seeking and report writing.
