Functional

Business Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Money Transfer and FX businesses in alignment with the Bank's overall business objectives.

  • Own and deliver portfolio revenue, profitability, transaction volume, customer acquisition, and market share targets.

  • Identify emerging market opportunities, customer needs, and industry trends to drive business growth.

  • Develop business cases and investment proposals for new products, capabilities, and partnerships.

Product Management & Proposition Development

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management for all Money Transfer and FX products.

  • Develop and enhance customer value propositions across retail, affluent, SME, and commercial customer segments.

  • Drive product innovation through digital channels, real-time payments, multi-currency solutions, and cross-border payment capabilities.

  • Define product pricing, revenue models, and commercial strategies.

  • Ensure products remain competitive and aligned with customer needs.

FX & Cross-Border Business Management

  • Partner with Treasury and FX dealing teams to optimize pricing strategies and maximize revenue opportunities.

  • Drive growth in foreign exchange transactions, remittance volumes, and customer penetration.

  • Develop corridor-specific growth strategies and customer acquisition initiatives.

  • Monitor industry developments, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes impacting the business.

Partnership & Ecosystem Development

  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with correspondent banks, remittance partners, payment networks, fintech companies, and ecosystem providers.

  • Negotiate commercial agreements and partnership frameworks.

  • Identify opportunities to expand distribution channels and service capabilities through strategic collaborations.

  • Represent the Bank in industry engagements and strategic forums.

Customer Experience & Digital Transformation

  • Drive customer-centric improvements across all Money Transfer and FX journeys.

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and straight-through processing.

  • Work closely with Technology and Digital Banking teams to deliver new capabilities and enhancements.

  • Monitor customer feedback and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Bank Negara Malaysia regulations, AML/CFT requirements, sanctions screening obligations, and internal governance standards.

  • Maintain robust controls, governance frameworks, and risk management practices across all products and processes.

  • Manage regulatory reviews, audits, and remediation initiatives.

  • Ensure effective oversight of operational and conduct risks.

Managerial

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Money Transfer and FX team.

  • Establish clear performance objectives, KPIs, and development plans for team members.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer focus.

  • Monitor business performance against approved plans and targets.

  • Implement corrective actions where required to achieve strategic and financial objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the function

Organizational

  • Collaborate closely with Treasury, Operations, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Marketing, Finance, Branch Banking, Digital Banking, and Relationship Management teams.

  • Influence senior stakeholders and secure alignment on strategic initiatives and business priorities.

  • Present business performance, strategic plans, and key initiatives to Senior Management, Management Committees, and Board-level forums

  • Support the Bank's strategic objectives and transformation agenda.

  • Champion innovation, digitalization, and customer-centricity across the organization.

  • Promote strong governance, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance.

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or a related discipline.

  • Professional certifications in Banking, Treasury, Payments, Foreign Exchange, Product Management, or Financial Services.

  • Relevant certifications in Project Management, Agile, Digital Transformation, or Risk Management would be an added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience within Banking, Financial Services, Payments, Transaction Banking, Foreign Exchange, or Remittance businesses.

  • Proven experience in leading product management, business development, or commercial functions within a financial institution.

  • Demonstrated track record in managing P&L, driving revenue growth, and delivering strategic business outcomes.

  • Strong understanding of foreign exchange markets, cross-border payment ecosystems, remittance services, and digital banking platforms.

  • Experience engaging regulators, payment networks, correspondent banks, fintechs, and strategic partners.

  • Prior people leadership experience with responsibility for team development and performance management.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Foreign Exchange products and markets

    • Cross-border payments and remittance ecosystems

    • Digital banking and payment technologies

    • Treasury and liquidity management principles

    • Regulatory and compliance requirements relating to payments and FX

  • Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to manage business profitability and growth.

  • Data-driven decision-making and analytical capabilities.

Leadership Skills

  • Strong leadership and people development capabilities.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage Senior Management and Board-level stakeholders.
