In International Wealth and Personal Banking , we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. Retail Banking plays a crucial role in executing the International Wealth and Personal Banking strategy, providing strategic advice, frameworks and guidance to markets, that ensure all customer journeys, products and services are sustainable, inclusive and built with customers at the heart. Retail Banking brings together a united retail business, made up of the following global teams: Segments, Retail Products, Shared Services Contact Centre, Distribution and Enablers spanning Customer Experience, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Business Architecture, Sustainability and Inclusion for International Wealth and Personal Banking.

We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) team in the role of Head of Business Management.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Tracking and managing all strategic and FRP KPIs to ensure achievement of required outcomes.
  • Direct and promote a data-driven decision-making culture through the provision of accurate, timely and insightful information to all levels of management and individuals across International Wealth & Premier Banking (IWPB).
  • Drive and manage annual financial planning, including interlocking with customer operating plan, distribution operating plan, and sales KPI.
  • Responsible for establishing a strong cost management discipline and achieving targets for direct cost management units.
  • Collaborate with Entity COO teams to provide meeting preparation, governance, support and follow up (actions and activities) for HoIWPB, including Board, Country OPCO, IWPB EXCO, Group/Regional meetings, other local business forums/steercos
  • Coordinate with Finance on all financial management aspects for IWPB including budgeting, FTE, cost forecasting and investments.
  • Be a key point of contact for all support required across the Head of IWPB's stakeholder map
  • Support IWPB Leadership team in setting top priorities, objectives, and execution plans
  • Collaborate effectively with Entity COO teams for services provided by Entity to IWPB.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years relevant working experience
  • Strong financial analytical background and proven ability in financial/analytical reasoning, including being able to contextualize financial data into business activities and conclusions
  • Outstanding understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives across the Group, IWPB (functionally, operationally and financially), and the external environment (regulatory, political, competitors etc)
  • High level of drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously
  • Proven experience of positive, challenging interactions with Senior Executives in IWPB and across the Group
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language
  • Outstanding relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
