Job Description

Company Description : Eureka Food Industries Sdn. Bhd. is part of the wider Mahnaz Food business, supporting the processing, roasting, packaging, and distribution of nuts and seeds across wholesale, retail, and supermarket channels.

As Mahnaz Food continues to strengthen and expand its operations, we are building the leadership capability needed to connect manufacturing excellence with sustainable commercial growth.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Business Unit to take full ownership of Eureka's performance and next phase of growth. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role carries full P&L accountability and leads the business from factory floor to customer fulfilment.

Role Description

Business and Commercial Leadership

  • Own the business unit's P&L and deliver revenue, profitability, cash flow, productivity, and cost targets.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with the Company's wider growth strategy.
  • Grow the wholesale, retail, and supermarket channels while maintaining disciplined pricing, margins, and cost competitiveness.
  • Present clear monthly business, operational, and financial performance updates to the Managing Director.

Manufacturing and Operational Excellence

  • Lead Production, Engineering, Maintenance, and supporting teams to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Ensure roasting, seasoning where applicable, packaging, labelling, and production schedules consistently meet business demand.
  • Improve plant utilisation, overall equipment effectiveness, labour productivity, material yield, and equipment reliability.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance, automation, capital investment, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce downtime, wastage, and operating cost without compromising product quality or service levels.

Supply Chain and Customer Fulfilment

  • Oversee demand planning, procurement coordination, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and order fulfilment.
  • Ensure the right levels of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods are available to support retail outlets and customers.
  • Improve inventory turnover, forecasting accuracy, and on-time delivery across all channels.

Quality Food Safety and Compliance

  • Maintain strict compliance with GMP, food safety requirements, customer standards, workplace safety, and applicable regulations.
  • Strengthen end-to-end traceability and ensure product consistency across raw materials and finished goods.
  • Lead internal, external, certification, and regulatory audits, including corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Drive root-cause analysis and timely resolution of quality issues and customer complaints.

People and Organisational Leadership

  • Lead and develop department heads across Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, HR, and Customer Service.
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen leadership capability, succession planning, workforce productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, foreign worker requirements, company policies, and appropriate PPE and safe working practices.

Governance Risk and Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare and manage operating budgets and capital expenditure plans, supported by strong controls and sound commercial judgement.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, identify operational and commercial risks, and implement practical mitigation plans.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Retail, Procurement, Finance, HR, Quality, Warehouse, suppliers, and service contractors.
  • Support product launches, packaging changes, capacity planning, and other business improvement priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Food Technology, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline. An MBA is an added advantage.
  • At least 8 to 12 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role with full operational accountability.
  • Proven experience managing P&L and leading cross-functional functions such as Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and support teams.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food processing, FMCG, or food repacking is strongly preferred.
  • A track record of improving productivity, cost, quality, service, and team performance in a complex operating environment.
