Why does this job exist and why is it critical
- Strategy, Architecture & Planning:
- Define and execute the network and cloud infrastructure strategy, aligned with IT and business roadmaps
- Lead infrastructure architecture, including network, compute, storage, cloud, and connectivity standards
- Oversee capacity planning, demand forecasting, and technology lifecycle management
- Drive migration and modernization initiatives (on‑prem → cloud, hybrid, multi‑cloud)
- Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure cohesive solutions
- Network, Cloud & Infrastructure Operations:
- Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of network and cloud platforms
- Oversee operations of:
- LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, Wi‑Fi, Internet, and telecom services
- Data center and hosting platforms
- Public cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud environments
- Establish and manage 24x7 operational support, incident, problem, and change management
- Own infrastructure uptime, performance SLAs, and operational KPIs
- Security, Risk & Compliance:
- Work closely with cybersecurity teams to embed security-by-design
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
- Ensure periodic assessment of vulnerability and timely vulnerability remediation
- Lead infrastructure aspects of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience testing
- Manage third‑party risks related to infrastructure providers and service partners
- Financial & Vendor Management:
- Own infrastructure budgets, forecasting, annual operating plan (AOP) derivation and cost optimization (FinOps)
- Drive cost transparency, chargeback/showback where applicable
- Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, telcos, and system integrators
- Lead sourcing strategy derivation, contract negotiations, performance management of vendors
- Financial & Vendor Management:
- Own infrastructure budgets, forecasting, annual operating plan (AOP) derivation and cost optimization (FinOps)
