Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Partnerships and Commercials to lead the strategic growth of our international remittance business. The role will focus on building and managing strategic partnerships, driving commercial opportunities, and overseeing financial targets to ensure the long-term success of our business in a highly competitive market.

About the Role

As the Head of Partnerships and Commercials, you will be responsible for the overall International Remittance business and overseeing the identification, negotiation, and management of key partnerships with related partners, financial institutions, and fintech companies. You will play a key role in commercial strategy, ensuring that the business achieves its financial objectives while maximizing revenue and profit from both existing and new partnerships.

Responsibilities

1.Partnership Development and Management:

  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key players in the industry within the relevant ecosystem (banks, fintech companies, payment providers, etc.).
  • Negotiate partnership terms, commercial agreements, and long-term relationship strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing partners to drive collaboration and mutual growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless partnership execution.

2.Commercial Strategy and Revenue Growth:

  • Set and track business development targets aligned with overall company goals for B2B, C2C and/or B2B2C.
  • Drive and manage the execution of sales and partnership targets, including revenue and market share growth.
  • Involve and contribute to building a product roadmap to meet customers needs to gain competitive advantage for all services of the company.
  • Identify new revenue streams, business models, and partnership opportunities.
  • Expand global remittance corridors by establishing payout and collection networks in key markets.
  • Identify high-growth corridors and develop strategies to increase transaction volume and market penetration.

3.Budget and P&L Management:

  • Own and manage the P&L for the international remittance business.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Ensure revenue targets are met while maintaining cost efficiency and margin growth.
  • Regularly report on financial performance and commercial KPIs to senior leadership.

4.Partner Opportunities and Commercial Growth:

  • Continuously monitor the market trends and changes in the international remittance industry to identify emerging partnership opportunities, including new geographies, service offerings, and financial products.
  • Analyze and assess the financial and operational performance of existing partners and identify opportunities to optimize and scale.
  • Proactively propose innovative solutions and new commercial models to enhance partnership profitability.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to assess market needs and align partnership strategies with business growth objectives.

5.Contract Negotiation and Compliance:

  • Lead negotiations for commercial contracts for existing and potential partners, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee legal and compliance aspects of partnership agreements and ensure adherence to regulations in different markets.

6.Market Intelligence and Competitor Analysis:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market shifts, and competitive landscape to ensure the business remains competitive and relevant in the fintech industry.
  • Use market insights to inform strategic decisions and identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team through ongoing coaching and support.
  • Foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation, growth, and high performance.

Qualifications

  • Possess at least Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or Marketing or any related field
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in a partnership/business development/sales/business management role
  • Preferably experienced in multinational fintech companies or banks, with relevant industry experience in international remittance and foreign exchange (FX)
  • Iteratively proactive, practical and platform-oriented with Get things done! attitude. A creative problem solver with a great storytelling ability
  • A strong business acumen to push international remittance business forward
  • Highly committed with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility
  • Have a basic understanding of the BNM's rules and regulations relating to international remittance business
  • Have campaign execution or project management experience will be an added advantage
  • Able to communicate well in English both spoken and written
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships at all levels and good influencing skill.
  • Skilled Excel, Google Sheets user. Able to understand and build complex spreadsheets organized, can manage multiple, competing priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills
