Our client, the largest coffee chain in Malaysia, is seeking a Head of Finance. To lead and oversee all financial functions of the organization, ensuring strong financial governance, strategic planning, and operational excellence. This role plays a key part in shaping financial strategy, driving business performance, safeguarding company assets, and supporting senior leadership in informed decision-making.
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy to support business goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Evaluate investment opportunities, business cases, and cost-saving initiatives.
Financial Operations & Governance
- Oversee daily finance operations including accounting, controlling, treasury, taxation, and cash flow management.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in compliance with local statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks, and financial risk management.
Business Partnering
- Work closely with business units to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Support strategic projects such as expansion plans, system implementations, pricing, and cost optimization.
- Provide analysis on key financial KPIs and recommend corrective actions.
Compliance & Audit
- Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Oversee audit processes and implement necessary improvements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to build strong technical and leadership capabilities.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Ensure proper succession planning and skills readiness within the finance department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional certification preferred: CPA, ACCA, CFA, ICAEW, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1015 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in financial strategy, forecasting, accounting standards, and financial controls.
- Proven experience managing full finance functions in a fast-paced or multi-entity environment.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead high-performing teams.
