My client is a reputable general insurance company offering a wide range of insurance products and solutions worldwide. They are currently looking for an experienced Head of Financial Lines, Underwriting to join their dynamic team as they expand in Malaysia.
Job responsibilities:
- Develops underwriting strategies for specific business lines
- Oversees strategy execution to achieve portfolio performance goals
- Identifies opportunities and risks, making data-driven decisions
- Collaborates with local teams to meet customer needs
- Acts as a decision-making reference point for underwriting queries
- Ensures alignment with business objectives and underwriting standards
- Enhances processes and efficiency for their business line
- Nurtures talent to sustain organizational readiness
Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field
- At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in underwriting within the insurance industry, with a focus on Financial Lines products
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing underwriting teams and developing underwriting strategies
- Proficiency in underwriting principles and practices related to financial lines insurance products
- Certification from a recognized insurance professional body (e.g., ANZIIF, CII) would be a plus
