Job Description

The Head of Government Relations will be responsible for leading and institutionalizing Boost's engagement with government ministries, departments, agencies, and statutory bodies to advance Boost's strategic, commercial, and ecosystem objectives.

This role is outcome-driven and business-led, focused on unlocking partnerships, programs, access, and execution pathways with government stakeholdersparticularly in areas involving financial inclusion, digitalisation, cooperatives, payments, and consumer and small business financing

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior interface between Boost and federal ministries, departments, agencies, statutory bodies, and the cooperative ecosystem.
  • Proactively identify, shape, and advance collaboration opportunities aligned to Boost's business priorities, positioning Boost as a credible execution partner.
  • Represent Boost in high-level meetings, task forces, and joint initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging and stakeholder alignment.
  • Translate government and cooperative priorities into executable commercial initiatives, and drive engagements from relationship building through delivery.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure commitments are met, timelines are managed, and deliverables achieve tangible business outcomes.
  • Maintain a strong network of senior civil servants and policymakers, advise internal leaders on sensitivities, and resolve issues to keep initiatives moving.
  • Provide structured updates to senior management on pipeline, risks, decisions needed, and progress against outcomes.

Education & Experience Required:

  • BSc, MBA in Business, Management or related field.
  • 1520+ years of experience in government relations, public sector business development, or related roles.
  • Prior experience working within a government ministry, department, or agency strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SKM or cooperative-related ministries is a distinct advantage.
  • Strong business development orientation.
  • Deep familiarity with government decision-making and approval processes.
  • Proven ability to engage senior officials and influential stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outcome-driven with a bias towards fast execution.
  • High integrity, discretion, and political sensitivity.
  • Resilient, proactive, and comfortable operating in ambiguity.
