Job Overview:
The Head of Group IT Delivery Management is responsible for leading and strengthening the IT Delivery function across internal and vendor-based initiatives. The role ensures structured, disciplined, and predictable execution across both Agile and Waterfall delivery lifecycles.
This position serves as Project Director for major initiatives and provides leadership oversight to delivery managers and project teams. The role works closely with Product Management, Engineering, and IT Portfolio & Strategy to ensure delivery alignment with organizational priorities and governance standards.
Your work life:
1. Delivery Leadership & Governance
- Lead and manage the Group IT Delivery Management function.
- Establish and continuously improve delivery frameworks, standards, and governance practices.
- Define clear accountability, reporting structures, and escalation pathways.
- Ensure structured execution across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid project lifecycles.
2. Project & Program Oversight
- Act as Project Director for major and cross-functional initiatives.
- Oversee project scope, schedule, cost, risk, and quality controls.
- Ensure proper governance forums and reporting mechanisms are in place.
- Drive disciplined planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
3. Team Leadership & Capability Development
- Lead Delivery Manager and Agile Delivery Leads within the function.
- Provide mentorship and structured guidance to delivery leads and team members.
- Develop capability uplift plans to strengthen delivery maturity and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and structured execution.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Product Management to ensure alignment between discovery and delivery execution.
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to ensure feasibility, sequencing, and technical readiness.
- Synchronize regularly with IT Portfolio & Strategy to align priorities, capacity, and governance.
- Engage business stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment throughout project lifecycles.
5. Vendor & External Delivery Management
- Oversee vendor-led project delivery and ensure compliance with agreed scope and contractual obligations.
- Establish governance standards for vendor reporting, risk management, and performance tracking.
- Ensure effective coordination between internal teams and external partners.
To be considered, you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT project or program management, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments.
- Experience overseeing large-scale, cross-functional, or multi-vendor initiatives.
- Strong governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile certifications) are an advantage.
- Telecommunication experience is an added advantage.
