Responsibilities:
- Provide efficient and effective management to ensure the operational efficiency of service delivery, including lending and reference service
- Provide guidance in the delivery of the information literacy programme as well as provide guidance in the development of the collection
- Develop the information literacy and subject requirement of the University
- Promote and market the various library to the Faculties/Schools and monitor respond to the changes in the service delivery requirements of the Faculties/Schools
- Ensure the library equipped with reading material and IT services and other facilities
- Provide direction to subject, medical, reference and lending services librarians to ensure the delivery of effective, client focused, document delivery, information literacy, reference and lending services
- Monitor the University research activity and strategic development and provide recommendations to ensure that library support these
- Participate in library committees and contribute to the library's other key committees
Requirements:
- Possess at least a Master in Library Science / Information Management or any other related discipline
- Minimum five (5) years experience in Cataloguing, Conduct Information Literacy, MQA Accreditation and visits etc. Preferably in education industry
- Good knowledge of library management systems and databases
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for providing exceptional library services
