We are seeking an experienced mechanical engineering leader to drive the design, development, and execution of precision automation systems. This role focuses on high-precision mechanical equipment in the semiconductor and advanced automation industry.
Location:
Melaka, Malaysia (onsite, full-time, occasional travel)
Salary:
Competitive, up to MYR 13,000/month basic
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a mechanical engineering team designing high-precision automation/test handler systems
- Define and execute the mechanical engineering roadmap aligned with product and business goals
- Oversee mechanical design of precision motion systems, thermal control, structural frames, and high-speed mechanisms
- Ensure robust design reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
- Mentor, develop, and manage engineering talent
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Electrical, Software, Test, and Manufacturing
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation, including Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), pilot builds, and production ramp-up
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 1015+ years in mechanical engineering for semiconductor, precision automation, or similar industries
- 5+ years in engineering leadership or team management
- Strong expertise in CAD, GD&T, pneumatics, actuators, thermal/vibration analysis, and FMEA
- Proven experience with high-precision mechanical systems and automation equipment
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
