Fintonia Group is building a tech-enabled digital assets financial services platform, with offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, combining a strong background in traditional finance with disruptive technology.
You will be joining a fun and fast-paced environment and will be working with a small team of seasoned industry professionals with experience working at top tier global investment banks and industry leaders.
The Role:
We are seeking a Head of Operations to lead the design, implementation, and scaling of Fintonia's operating platform across lending, yield products, custody workflows, technology systems, internal controls, vendor management, and business execution.
The successful candidate will operate as a hands-on business builder, working closely with the CEO, Investments, Legal/Compliance, Finance, Client Solutions, Technology, and external service providers to ensure that new products can be launched, controlled, monitored, and scaled safely.
The role is particularly suited to someone with strong experience in regulated financial services, trading or lending operations, fintech product operations, capital markets infrastructure, or platform execution. Direct digital asset experience is helpful but not essential. More important is the ability to understand complex financial products, translate them into robust operating workflows, and build scalable controls in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating Model and Execution Leadership
- Design and own the front-to-back operating model for Fintonia's Bitcoin financial services platform, including BTC-backed lending and BTC yield generation.
- Translate new product requirements into practical operating procedures, workflows, controls, reporting, and escalation processes.
- Drive execution across internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure that product launches and strategic initiatives are delivered on time.
- Establish clear ownership, operating rhythm, decision forums, and performance tracking across Malaysia and Singapore teams.
- Act as a senior execution partner to the CEO and functional heads on operational readiness, scalability, and risk management.
Lending Operations and Collateral Workflow
- Own the operational workflow for BTC-collateralised loans, including borrower onboarding handoff, loan setup, collateral receipt, LTV monitoring, maturity tracking, repayment coordination, collateral release, and default procedures.
- Work with Investments, Legal/Compliance, and Finance to ensure that loan documentation, collateral controls, approval workflows, and reporting processes are properly embedded into day-to-day operations.
- Ensure daily and periodic monitoring processes are in place for loan registers, collateral positions, LTV reports, maturity schedules, option expiry tracking, and exception management.
- Coordinate operational readiness for different lending product types, including no-margin-call loans, Lombard-style products, and structured financing products.
- Ensure that loan operations are auditable, controlled, scalable, and aligned with internal governance standards.
Custody, Wallet, and Transaction Controls
- Oversee operational controls relating to digital asset custody, wallet movements, collateral segregation, transaction approvals, and wallet visibility.
- Work with custody providers and internal stakeholders to ensure that borrower collateral is properly tracked, controlled, and reconciled.
- Maintain clear procedures for collateral receipt, movement, release, liquidation, and exception handling.
- Ensure that approval matrices, access rights, maker-checker controls, and incident escalation processes are properly implemented.
- Partner with Legal/Compliance and external vendors to maintain strong operational resilience and risk controls across custody infrastructure.
Systems, Data, and Workflow Optimisation
- Lead the operational implementation and optimisation of loan management, collateral management, reporting, and internal workflow systems.
- Own the business-side configuration, testing, and adoption of platforms such as OneToken, BitGo, CRM, finance systems, dashboards, and internal reporting tools.
- Partner with technology vendors and internal users to ensure systems are fit for purpose, properly controlled, and scalable.
- Build management dashboards and operating reports for loan books, operational exceptions, service levels, risk indicators, and business performance.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and strengthen auditability.
Risk, Controls, and Governance
- Design and maintain the operational risk and control framework across lending, custody, fund operations, enterprise systems, and business processes.
- Establish procedures for incident management, exception reporting, escalation, reconciliation, business continuity, and control testing.
- Coordinate with Compliance to ensure operational processes align with regulatory obligations, internal policies, AML/KYC requirements, and governance standards.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, board reporting, and internal control assessments where required.
- Ensure that operational controls are embedded into workflows rather than treated as after-the-fact checks.
Cross-Functional Business Partnering
- Work closely with Investments on product launch readiness, loan monitoring workflows, collateral processes, and investment committee reporting.
- Work closely with Legal/Compliance on documentation workflows, borrower onboarding, collateral agency processes, regulatory controls, and policy implementation.
- Work closely with Finance on cash movements, funding flows, receivables tracking, loan economics, expense controls, and management reporting.
- Work closely with Client Solutions on client onboarding handoffs, service standards, and borrower / investor communication processes.
- Coordinate external service providers including custodians, fund administrators, IT vendors, banks, system providers, auditors, and other operating partners.
Team Leadership and Platform Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Operations team, setting high standards for ownership, execution discipline, risk awareness, and professional development.
- Build the future operating structure required to support Fintonia's growth across products, jurisdictions, and business lines.
- Create practical SOPs, playbooks, checklists, dashboards, and control frameworks that enable the business to scale without relying on informal knowledge.
- Drive a culture of accountability, precision, continuous improvement, and commercial pragmatism.
