We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and strategic Head of People to join our Singapore team. Located in Malaysia, this role plays a critical leadership position in shaping and executing the people strategy for Singapore, partnering closely with senior business leaders to drive organizational performance, transformation, and talent outcomes.
Role Purpose
The Head of People is responsible for leading the HR Business Partnering function in Singapore, providing strategic HR leadership across the employee lifecycle. This role contributes directly to business performance by aligning people strategies with business objectives, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, and ensuring effective delivery of people initiatives across multiple functions.
The role combines deep HR expertise with strong commercial acumen, covering areas such as workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, organizational design, performance and reward, and change management—while ensuring full compliance with local employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership
- Partner with senior leadership to align people and talent strategies with business goals and country priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership teams on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and leadership capability.
- Translate business strategy into practical people plans that support growth, transformation, and operational excellence.
Leadership & Change
- Act as a change agent, leading and supporting business transformation initiatives, organizational redesign, and cultural change.
- Provide coaching to leaders on leadership effectiveness, people management, and employee engagement.
- Champion best practices in HR Business Partnering and continuous improvement.
Talent & Workforce Management
- Lead workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development for Singapore.
- Identify talent gaps & opportunities and partner with Talent Acquisition to deliver effective hiring strategies.
- Oversee performance management, capability development, and employee development initiatives.
Employee Relations & Governance
- Lead and manage complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Provide guidance on employee conduct, performance, and workplace behaviour.
- Ensure consistent application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of Singapore employment legislation and HR compliance requirements.
- Ensure all people practices comply with local labour laws and regulatory requirements, partnering with Legal where necessary.
- Mitigate people-related risks through proactive advice and sound governance.
HR Collaboration & Delivery
- Partner closely with Centres of Excellence and shared services teams.
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for supported business groups in Singapore.
- Support leaders on key people decisions including hiring, promotions, restructuring, and exits.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline; professional HR certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in a senior HR Business Partner or HR leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of Singapore employment law and HR best practices.
- Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders in a complex, matrixed, or multinational environment.
- Demonstrated capability in managing organizational change, employee relations, and talent strategy.
- Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
- Able to operate independently, manage ambiguity, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail with strong time management and prioritization skills.
