The Head of sales is accountable for the achievement of the assigned targets for its sales unit, while driving growth and profitability for the branch. This role will lead a team of sales executive and will be responsible to attract, guide, train and retain talent within its sales unit. Maintaining relationships with key partners and increasing business from preferred segments is a core responsibility.
Job Description
Financial performance
- Ensure the sales unit meets the budget and sale goals
- Oversee collection of outstanding payments and manage financial performance in the sales unit
People Management
- Organize and lead recruitment drives to attract and retain talent within the sales unit
- Conduct daily visitation review and performance review with team members
- Provide coaching and supervision to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure team members in sales units are well equipped with technical skills
Agent relationship management
- Maintain relationships and continue building trust with preferred partners
- Win over preferred partners thus growing their share of wallet (SOW) through building relationship, identifying root cause for low SOW and applying targeted interventions
- Coordinate CPD training for agents at branch level, as required
- Plan marketing activities for own sales unit
Business Operations
- Ensure effective and efficient administration of day-to-day business operations in line with SOP across all support functions
Compliance
- Ensure consistency with risk management guidelines
- Ensure compliance with regulations and laws
- Ensure good corporate governance is practiced and are being exercised
Job Requirement:
- Minimum Diploma or bachelors degree in any related field
- Minimum 5 - 8 years working experience in insurance industry
- Ability in managing and mentoring a team of salespeople
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- In-depth knowledge of insurance and competitive landscape
