The Company

The Head of Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the firm's technology strategy in close alignment with business, risk, and regulatory objectives. This role acts as a technology partner to the business, ensuring platforms, data, and systems enable growth, operational excellence, and innovation while maintaining the highest standards of resilience, security, and compliance.

The role requires a leader who combines strong technical depth with commercial and stakeholder acumen, capable of translating business strategy into scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions across front, middle, and back office functions.

The Role

Technology Strategy & Architecture

• Define and own the enterprise technology strategy aligned with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth plans.
• Lead architecture decisions across applications, infrastructure, cloud, data, and integration platforms.
• Drive modernization initiatives including cloud adoption, platform re-architecture, SaaS implementation, and technical debt reduction.
• Ensure technology scalability, availability, and performance across all critical systems.

Business Partnership & Delivery

• Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior business leaders across trading, investment, risk, finance, operations, and distribution.
• Translate business requirements into clear technology roadmaps and executable delivery plans.
• Oversee delivery of complex, cross-functional programs with strong governance, budgeting, and outcome ownership.
• Balance speed of delivery with operational stability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, build, and develop high-performing technology teams across engineering, architecture, infrastructure, data, and security.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and develop future technology leaders, ensuring strong succession planning.
• Manage internal teams and external partners, including vendors, system integrators, and managed service providers.

Risk, Security & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with regulatory, security, and data-protection requirements relevant to Financial Services.
• Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security to manage technology risk.
• Establish robust operational controls, disaster recovery, and business continuity frameworks. Take accountability for technology governance, audits, and regulatory engagements.

Innovation & Change

• Stay at the forefront of technology trends in Financial Services, including cloud, data/analytics, AI/GenAI, automation, and cybersecurity.
• Identify and implement innovations that create measurable business value.

• Drive change management and adoption across the organization.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles within Financial Services or closely related regulated environments.
• Strong background across front, middle, and back office systems (e.g., trading, investment platforms, risk, finance, operations).
• Proven experience delivering large-scale technology transformations (cloud, platform modernization, data/analytics, operating model change).
• Deep understanding of Financial Services regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business stakeholders and influence at executive level.
• Strong people leader with experience managing multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
• Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets, vendors, and technology investment decisions.
