Head, Reporting & Taxation

Cagamas is seeking an experienced financial reporting and control professional to lead its Reporting & Taxation function and team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a key leadership role within Cagamas Finance Division. The position performs the principal Financial Controller role for Cagamas Group, with responsibility for the integrity of the Group's accounting records, financial reporting and related financial controls.

This is an opportunity for a strong financial reporting or control professional who is ready to step into a broader Financial Controller leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial control, financial close and statutory reporting across the Group.
• Lead technical and product accounting, including Treasury accounting and advisory.
• Manage the relationship with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit and interim limited review processes.
• Oversee taxation, capital adequacy and regulatory reporting within the function's responsibilities.
• Drive improvements in accounting systems, processes and financial controls.
• Lead and develop the Reporting & Taxation team and provide clear and practical advice to the CFO and relevant stakeholders.
• Undertake special projects and other responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent relevant discipline.
• Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAEW, CPA (Aus), CA ANZ, MICPA or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years of managerial experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, financial control and/or technical accounting, with strong practical knowledge of MFRS.
• Relevant financial services experience and prior experience in a Big Four accounting firm are strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical judgement and problem-solving ability, with strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

Exceptional candidates with slightly less than 10 years of experience may also be considered where they demonstrate the requisite managerial experience, capability and readiness to step into a broader Financial Controller role.
