Job Description

Job Summary:

The Head, Retail Operations role is responsible for the daily monitoring, regulatory compliance, and administrative integrity of a privately-operated PETRONAS station. This role is responsible for maintaining high operational standards and staff discipline while driving business growth through B2B fuel sales and the exploration of new income streams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operational Oversight & Compliance: Lead the daily monitoring of forecourt and store operations to ensure 100% adherence to brand standards, safety protocols (HSSE), and local regulatory requirements (KPDN/BOMBA).
  • Daily Operational & Financial Administration: Ensure all daily operational, financial, and administrative data is accurately compiled and submitted to the Retail Department for processing, including fuel inventory management and staff records (e.g., attendance and annual leave).
  • Stakeholder & Corporate Liaison: Represent the company at meetings or official occasions hosted by PETRONAS; serve as the primary point of contact for federal and state authorities regarding retail regulations and licensing.
  • Wet Stock & Inventory Integrity: Conduct rigorous daily reconciliations of fuel volumes and store inventory to eliminate shrinkage, detect leakages early, and prevent unauthorized stock loss or pilferage.
  • Budgeting & Financial Discipline: Develop and manage the station's annual operating budget, focusing on the aggressive reduction of utility costs, maintenance expenses, and unnecessary overtime.
  • New Revenue Stream Exploration: Proactively identify and negotiate with third-party vendors (e.g., food trucks, ATMs, courier hubs, or vending machines) to monetize underutilised station space and increase ancillary income.
  • Asset & Facility Maintenance: Implement a proactive maintenance schedule for all critical equipment (dispensers, chillers, POS systems) to ensure zero downtime and maintain a high-quality site image.
  • General Business Administration: Manage all other administrative and financial matters related to the retail business, ensuring internal company policies and accounting requirements are met.
  • Team Leadership & Directives: Provide clear leadership to the station team and execute any lawful directives from immediate superiors to achieve the company's broader business objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Retail Business or other relevant field
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of working experience in Retail Operations
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experienced in managing and leading group of people
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office software i.e, Words, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possesses the following knowledge will be an added advantage : Petronas policies and Retail Business regulations and policies
