We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our Shariah Research & Advisory function as the Head, Shariah Research & Advisory. This role offers an opportunity to shape the Bank's Shariah governance framework, provide strategic advisory support, and contribute to the advancement of Islamic finance practices across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shariah Research & Advisory function and support the Chief Shariah Officer in discharging responsibilities under the Shariah Governance Framework.

• Provide strategic Shariah advisory and guidance to Management, business units, and stakeholders on matters relating to the Bank's products, services, operations, and strategic initiatives.

• Oversee the implementation and dissemination of rulings, resolutions, and decisions issued by Bank Negara Malaysia's Shariah Advisory Council (SAC), Securities Commission Malaysia's SAC, and the Bank's Shariah Committee.

• Lead Shariah research, analysis, and assessment of Shariah contracts, emerging issues, industry developments, and regulatory requirements to support informed decision-making by the Shariah Committee and Management.

• Ensure the Bank's policies, procedures, operational guidelines, product documentation, and business practices remain compliant with Shariah principles and regulatory expectations.

• Serve as Secretary to the Shariah Committee and oversee the effective administration, governance, and execution of all Shariah Committee-related matters.

• Drive strategic Shariah initiatives, including the development of Shariah thought leadership, Shariah Centre of Excellence programmes, Halal ecosystem initiatives, and talent development in Islamic finance.

• Champion innovation and digitalisation initiatives within the Shariah function, including the enhancement of Shariah knowledge management, research capabilities, and digital platforms.

Requirement

• A minimum of a Master's degree or its equivalent in relevant fields, and in possession of relevant professional qualifications fulfilling the related job requirements
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Islamic Banking operations; had assumed management positions with good professional ethics and occupational track records
• Deep and wide Islamic Banking knowledge in the areas of Fiqh Muamalat with vast experience on application of IB operations
• Deep and wide knowledge in the research development & comparative approach of IB products design and structuring mechanism between Islamic and conventional products
