Job Description

Company Background:

Our client is a multinational manufacturer whose advanced technology products targets automotive electronics, industrial control and consumer electronics markets. They are currently looking for a HR Director to be based in their manufacturing plant in Melaka.

Overall Job Purpose:

Overall HR leadership for the Melaka site, with direct leadership of all site HR functions. COE functions maintain functional dotted-line alignment with headquarter.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership & Partnership: Partner with the Site GM to align local execution with HQ and COE while combining HRBP and Talent Acquisition into a single, business-facing function.
  • Integrated Talent Acquisition & Ramp-Up: Drive high-volume and specialized recruitment using data dashboards, local pipelines, and weekly governance to support business expansion.
  • HR Operations & Team Management: Lead the on-site HR team to deliver responsive day-to-day operations, standard policies, KPIs, and disciplined service.
  • Organization Effectiveness & Talent Management: Drive organizational design, workforce productivity, performance management, retention strategies, and industry technical training frameworks.
  • Employee Relations, Compliance & Risk: Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws, manage industrial harmony/unions, reduce manufacturing turnover, and lead audit readiness.

Job Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of progressive HR experience, with over 5 years in HR leadership or senior HRBP leadership roles, with exposure in semiconductor / electronics / high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience leading site HR team and collaboration with COE function across regional / HQ structures.
  • Strong HRBP capability including business diagnosis, organization design, workforce planning, talent review and leadership advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labor law, employee relations, compliance and industrial relations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record leading site hiring, technical talent acquisition, workforce ramp-up projects and etc.
  • Data-driven HR management and change leadership, experience with HRIS, recruitment dashboards and HR operating metric is preferred.
  • Willing to work in Melaka.
