About the Role

Reporting to the Group Head of HR, the HR Director serves as a strategic leader responsible for aligning people initiatives with commercial priorities across one of AEM's key business units. This role acts as a critical bridge between global HR strategy and regional execution—driving localized workforce planning, talent management, and organizational effectiveness to support sustainable growth within a matrix framework.

Responsibilities

  • Advise business leaders on people strategies aligned to business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead workforce planning and organisational design to ensure optimal structure and capability.
  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations and policy matters, ensuring compliance with local regulations and group standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on organisational health, engagement, and culture initiatives.
  • Drive organisational development and transformation initiatives, including structure optimisation and capability build.
  • Lead change management programmes to support enterprise transformation.
  • Own and govern succession planning frameworks, talent review processes, and leadership pipeline development.
  • Partner with business leaders to identify critical roles and build robust talent pipelines.
  • Define and oversee learning strategy and leadership development aligned with business priorities.
  • Ensure consistent talent calibration and readiness assessments across regions.
  • Design, implement, and govern performance management frameworks, including goal-setting and rating calibration standards.
  • Drive a high-performance culture through consistent talent and performance practices.
  • Ensure alignment of performance outcomes with organisational objectives and values.
  • Collaborate with HR COEs and Operations to implement compensation, benefits, and learning programmes effectively.
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, frameworks, and practices across regions, with appropriate localisation.
  • Leverage workforce analytics to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee industrial relations, including union engagement, collective agreements, and dispute resolution where applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to both HRBP and organisational effectiveness domains in a global environment.
  • Strong business acumen with ability to link people strategies to business and financial outcomes.
  • Proven track record in organisational design, talent management, and transformation initiatives.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and managing complexity in matrix organisations.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience leveraging HR data and insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
