Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an HR Generalist at FIRMUS. The HR Generalist will support the full spectrum of people-related activities across Malaysia and branch office in Singapore, with a strong focus on HR operations, end-to-end talent acquisition, employee relations and payroll.

The role requires a mature, meticulous and dependable HR professional who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day HR operations and handling sensitive employee matters with discretion and sound judgement. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, ensure accuracy in payroll and employee records, and support end-to-end talent acquisition activities.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the HR Generalist will support performance management, talent development, employee experience and other people initiatives, contributing to the continuous improvement of HR processes and the overall employee experience at FIRMUS.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, transfers, confirmations, promotions and offboarding.
  • Manage and coordinate end-to-end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and proper statutory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data and personnel documentation.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave and other HR policies and processes.
  • Handle employee enquiries and support employee relations matters with professionalism, confidentiality and sound judgement.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management and onboarding for all open positions in the company.
  • Support recruitment for technical and cybersecurity positions, working closely with hiring managers to understand technical requirements and identify suitable candidates.
  • Support performance management processes, including performance reviews and related employee and manager discussions.
  • Support talent development, learning and career development initiatives.
  • Support employee engagement and employee experience initiatives.
  • Prepare HR reports, workforce data and other people-related analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are implemented consistently and in accordance with applicable employment requirements.
  • Support HR matters across Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Take ownership of assigned HR projects and ad-hoc initiatives that support the People Team and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a generalist HR role.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end talent acquisition, HR operations, employee relations and payroll processing.
  • Experience recruiting for technical or cybersecurity roles is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of HR policies, procedures and Malaysian employment practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy, particularly in payroll and employee records.
  • Mature, responsible and able to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently, prioritise multiple responsibilities and take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Experience in the cybersecurity or technology industry is a plus.
