Job Description
The ideal candidate will support the Director, Human Resources in the planning, organisation and effective management of the Human Resources function, covering employment, compensation and benefits, labour relations, Team Member relations, and other related human resources and administrative matters, in alignment with the Hotel's business objectives and operating requirements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Director, Human Resources in the planning, coordination and day-to-day management of the Human Resources function.
- Lead and supervise the HR Team in delivering effective HR services, onboarding and Team Member support.
- Manage recruitment and employment activities, including manpower planning, screening, selection, hiring, placement and orientation.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures and Malaysian employment requirements.
- Support compensation and benefits administration, salary changes, performance appraisals and HR surveys.
- Coordinate Team Member engagement, welfare, recreational and social programmes within the approved HR budget.
- Promote positive Team Member relations and communication, and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
- Assist in handling disciplinary, employee relations and labour relations matters fairly and consistently.
- Ensure effective administration and communication of Team Member benefits and welfare programmes.
- Maintain proper HR records, personnel files and confidential documents, ensuring accuracy, security and confidentiality.
- Prepare and maintain HR reports, manpower data, turnover, vacancies and other HR-related statistics.
- Assist the Director, Human Resources with HR projects, initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- Work closely with Management, Heads of Departments and Team Members to support effective hotel operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, Human Resources within the scope of the position.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Industrial Relations or related field.
- 5–7 years progressive HR experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial HR role.
- Good knowledge of recruitment, C&B, Team Member relations, performance management and disciplinary matters.
- Experience in labour/industrial relations and unionised environment is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, counselling and problem-solving skills.
- Good administrative, organisational and HR reporting skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; other languages are an advantage.
- Mature, approachable, fair, objective and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Proactive, hands-on and able to work effectively with Management, HODs and Team Members
